Owner of Still Life Gallery Fine Art & Custom Framing in Ellicott City, Maryland, not far from Baltimore. I have been lucky enough to live internationally including Paris and the Middle East, as well as travel to fascinating places like the Arctic and India. I am from Los Angeles, California and in 2012 moved to the greater Baltimore region to fulfill a long-time dream of owning a fine art gallery. I have a long and varied background as an artist myself, with experience as a painter, illustrator, portraitist, cartoonist, sculptor, and photographer. I have also worked in the visual merchandising, advertising, writing, editing, and publications design fields. In 2007-2008, I was fortunate enough to be able to live in Paris for an entire year, a city where beauty surrounds you in every detail of everyday life, and where every child is taught the importance of art and aesthetics both in school and in the culture.

I enjoy helping to make art an enriching aspect of everyone's life; making it accessible and non-pretentious is important to me. Art is a hallmark of an elevated and civilized society. It is also an important way to support the local economy. All of the work in my gallery is from local and regional artists! The Mid-Atlantic region has many superb artists from all over the world, who work in a wide variety of genres, techniques, and styles, and I am privileged to represent a growing number of them.

Note: My business, Still Life Gallery, was destroyed in the devastating Ellicott City Flood of July 30th, 2016. My husband, David Dempster, was there and filmed the "Human chain car flood rescue" video which immediately went viral worldwide. He was the last man in the chain, holding the next man's hand with his right while filming with his left. The video helped to raise a large portion of the money donated to Ellicott City's flood relief efforts.
