Jeannette Ortt is a writer and artist originally from Virginia Beach, VA. She likes to write about culture and children. Her paintings have been shown at the Hamilton Gallery and the Howard County Arts Council as well as at area eateries.
A Baltimore City Master Gardener, Jeannette manages a community garden in her city neighborhood. Her dream is to replace all suburban lawns with natural landscapes and add roof gardens to all city buildings.
She volunteers with RAINN's sexual assault online hotline and Mid-Atlantic Bully Buddies, a pit bull rescue group.
Before moving to Maryland, Jeannette graduated from the University of Virginia with degrees in Studio Art and Slavic Languages and Literatures.
