Pikesville Volunteer Fire Company Fire Log: February 2013

Fatal beltway crash, a chimney fire and accidents mark this month in calls.

The Pikesville Volunteer Fire Company was called to a crash at I-695 on Feb. 22; it was a crash that ended up with a fatality. At about 1 a.m., a motorist was driving a Honda car when it struck a tractor trailer. The driver was ejected and run over by another vehicle, according to a report on the company website. According to Maryland State Police, Jason Sukun Park of Baltimore was driving the Honda when it hit a tractor trailer driven by Brian David Olson of California. Park was struck by a car driven by Brian Michael Douglas of Baltimore. Park was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a state police release. 6901 Security Boulevard, Second floor at Macy's. Police: Fatal McDonough Road Crash Likely Due to Medication

The Pikesville Volunteer Fire Company worked to extricate a person 'heavily trapped' in a two-vehicle collision Friday, and the Baltimore County Police Department is investigating.

One person was killed due to a two-vehicle collision Friday in Garrison, and Baltimore County police say it was likely medication-related. A driver crossed over the double-yellow line and one person died as a result of that collision along McDonogh Road, said Lt. Michael DiCara, assistant commander for the Pikesville Precinct. DiCara gave the update during the Tuesday night, monthly meeting of the Pikesville Police & Community Relations Council, held at Baltimore Hebrew Congregation. Investigators are looking into the possibility that medication played a role in this crash, he said. DiCara emphasized that this collision was not due to high speed. Police: Towson Collision Turned Fatal as Baby Is Delivered Stillborn

A pregnant woman involved in a car crash lost her infant early this morning at Hopkins.

A baby was delivered stillborn this morning after its nine-months-pregnant mother survived a two-car collision Friday night in Towson, Baltimore County police said. The mother, who was driving a Saturn when the collision occurred at around 11:15 p.m., and her passenger suffered non-life threatening injuries. The two were taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, said Cpl. John Wachter, a Baltimore County Police Department spokesman. "The baby, though, was delivered stillborn" at 3:24 a.m. Saturday at the hospital, Wachter said. "That is why we are calling it a fatal." The driver of the second car—a Hyundai—was taken to GBMC.
