PHOTOS: Veterans Memorial at Druid Ridge Cemetery

Six deceased veterans were honored, interred at the Charles E. Kratz Memorial Park in Pikesville.

On Veterans Day in Pikesville, six military veterans who are recently deceased were honored for their service. Friends and family members of the six veterans attended the ceremony at Druid Ridge Cemetery, led by the 101st Airborne Division Association of Springfield, VA. It was held at the Charles E. Kratz Memorial Park, founded by Kratz, who is now deceased, and who, along with his wife, Cass, is buried nearby. The six veterans are: Kratz began the memorial park because his deceased family members were buried there, said Barbara Houck, his niece, of Severna Park, who was at the memorial service. Veterans Honored During Pikesville Event

The Pikesville Senior Center held a luncheon and dance Monday in honor of veterans.

The Pikesville Senior Center celebrated local veterans Monday with a luncheon and USO dance. About 60 people, including members of the center, attended the event. "We held this event to honor our veterans. It's nice to be thought about and honored, especially in this day and age," said Judy Finifter, center director.
