Stone Mill Bakery To Open in Stevenson Village

Coffee with T closed its doors at the location last month.

Stevenson Village is getting a new tenant: Stone Mill Bakery. On Friday, renovations were ongoing at the former site of Coffee with T, which closed its doors last month. The new cafe and bakery will "open soon," at The Shops at Stevenson Village, 10415 Stevenson Rd., according to its website. Stone Mill Bakery already has a location at 10751 Falls Road in Lutherville. The bakery was founded more than 20 years ago as a wholesale bakery. These days, it's also a cafe serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, according to the website. It also caters. Will you visit Stone Mill Bakery in Stevenson? Stevenson's Coffee with T Closed Its Doors Thursday

Owner Theresa Frond announced her decision on the cafe's Facebook page.

The 10-year-old Coffee with T cafe is calling it quits. Owner Theresa La Frond announced that the Stevenson Village business is closing its doors. "We will miss everyone. We have had a great run her in Stevenson Village, but it is time to move on to the next adventure," she wrote in an announcement on the business' Facebook page. La Frond thanked the landlord for a great partnership, and the other merchants at the village, located in Stevenson. "Thank you for all of your support. Stevenson Village is a wonderful place to own a business. I will always think of your camaraderie," she states. "Most of all, we would like to thank you, our loyal customers, for your business and friendship. Every day at the café was filled with smiles, laughter …

Hidden in Stevenson Village, The Velvet Chocolatier is a chocolate lovers' fantasy.

Driving down winding, tree-lined Stevenson Road, one may zip past the quaint, quiet and busy Shops at Stevenson Village. But located in this small gem of shopping center is The Velvet Chocolatier, owned by Ruthie Penn-Carliner. Ruthie became the owner of Penn Pontiac-GMC Subaru in 1997 until its sale in 2007. So … what motivated the owner of a car dealership to become a “chocolate chef?" After the sale of the car business, Ruthie’s family (three children and a husband) strongly encouraged her to enroll in culinary school and make chocolates. “It’s very relaxing and fun, being a chocolatier,” said Ruthie.  The chocolate boutique sits on the corner just at the entrance to the Village.
