UPDATE: 4 People Injured in Garrison Stabbing

Police say two young adults were taken to hospitals, one with a life-threatening stab wound. Two others were injured but did not require treatment. Police are also investigating the report of a shot fired nearby, but no one was injured.

UPDATE (7:17 p.m.)—Two young adults, estimated to be between the ages of 18 and 25, were stabbed inside a Garrison townhome Tuesday afternoon, police said. One of the injured has a life-threatening stab wound, and one suffered a cut from the stabbing. They were taken to Northwest Hospital, said Det. Cathy Batton, Baltimore County police spokeswoman. Two others in the home were also injured, but did not require treatment, she said. On Tuesday evening, police were still investigating the argument that led to the stabbing, as well as a shot that was fired nearby, "from around the corner" at Spectator and Fitzharding Road, Batton said. Police: Mother Stabs Son, Is Charged With Abuse

The following information was supplied by the Baltimore County Police Department. In cases where a criminal charge is noted, the information provided does not indicate a conviction.

UPDATE (10:36 a.m. Feb. 27) — Jacqueline Natalie Smith, 33, has been charged with assault after allegedly stabbing her teenage son early Wednesday, Baltimore County Police said. Baltimore County police responded to a call to find the teen with a stab wound to his upper leg. According to a police statement, he had been in an argument with his mother, and she allegedly stabbed him. Police arrested the teen's mother, who is a resident of the unit block of Stockmill Road in Pikesville, and charged her with first-degree assault, second-degree assault, first-degree child abuse, second-degree child abuse and resisting arrest, according to a police statement. She is currently being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center on $150,000 bail. …

Pikesville Man Faces Attempted First-Degree Murder Charge

Police: Roey Sahar Cherkasski, 20, allegedly stabbed a 20-year-old victim three times.

Police charged Pikesville resident Roey Sahar Cherkasski, 20, with attempted first-degree murder after a street fight early Saturday in the Twin Ridge area. During that fight, a 20-year-old Pikesville man was stabbed three times, once in the chest and twice in the leg, at Old Willow Road and Sunny Meadow Court, said Det. Cathy Batton of Baltimore County police. The victim was transported to Sinai Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Batton said. As of Tuesday evening, he was still in the hospital. He had been in too much pain to discuss the fight with police, she said. Girl, 11, Throws Knife at Boy, 12

Baltimore County police charged an 11-year-old girl with first-degree assault after she allegedly threw a knife at her friend, a 12-year-old Pikesville boy. At around 9 p.m. Friday, the two friends were arguing in the 4600 block of Old Court Road in Pikesville when the girl went into "her apartment," got a knife, chased the boy and threw the knife at him, a police report states. The knife stuck in the boy's right thigh.

This type of violence is modeled behavior. It can not be tolerated and the parents must be held accountable. These parents and those around them have to find the desire to teach themselves and their children how to manage feelings; this is what leads to domestic violence and murder in our society.
