Friends of Katie Hadel, the woman who was killed in Owings Mills Tuesday night, have been expressing their condolences on her Facebook page.
Katie Hadel has been described as “gorgeous,” “great” and a “beautiful spirit” by her Facebook friends. Since her death on Tuesday night, friends have posted memories and condolences on Hadel’s Facebook wall. Hadel was stabbed Tuesday night in her Owings Mills apartment, and pronounced dead at the scene. “The universe lost a beautiful spirit with your passing. It was too soon. I will never forget the kindness you showed as one of the first people I met when I moved to MD in middle school,” wrote Heather Hahn. “As silly as it sounds, I never used a locker before and you took the time to show me how it worked. Baltimore County Police have charged an Annapolis man with murder in the death of Owings Mills resident Katie Hadel. Jeffrey Michael Shiflett, 33, of the 1700 block of Saint Margarets Road in Annapolis, is charged with one count of first-degree murder, according to a Baltimore County Police press release. He was arrested without incident Wednesday morning shortly after 11 a.m. when an officer spotted him walking on the street in the Reisterstown area, police said. He is currently being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center. Police have identified a man who stabbed by his roommate in Owings Mills Thursday afternoon.
An Owings Mills man is charged with attempted murder and assault after he stabbed his roommate Thursday afternoon. Luis Alonso Andrade-Medrano, 34, of the 9000 block Reisterstown Road, is charged with attempted first-degree murder and first- and second-degree assault. He is being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center, according to a Baltimore County Police press release. Orlando Martinez, 43, was flown to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma after the stabbing. He is expected to live, police said. Martinez was stabbed multiple times by Andrade-Medrano, his roommate, after an argument inside their Owings Mills home around 3:30 p.m. escalated into a fight that moved outside the house, police said. The man walked into an Owings Mills business after being stabbed at an unknown location.
UPDATED 8:43 p.m. Jan 31: A man was flown to shock trauma after a stabbing in Owings Mills Thursday afternoon. Baltimore County Police responded to Elite Lock and Key, located at 9925 Reisterstown Road, at 3:59 p.m. and found an adult male with at least one stab wound. The man was stabbed at an unknown location and went to Elite Lock and Key after the stabbing, according to a police press release. He was transported to an area hospital by medevac with life-threatening injuries, said Baltimore County Police Cpl. John Wachter. The incident is still under investigation, police said.

Police say the Jan. 3 crime was drug-related and occurred in Hilltop Acres in Perry Hall.
Police have arrested and charged the suspect and both victims involved in a brutal stabbing incident in Perry Hall. According to Baltimore County police, at about 7:40 p.m. Jan. 3, Brandon Victorian, of Gwynn Oak, and Donte Smith arrived in the 5000 block of Hilltop Acres Road to meet a third man named Dallus Newson. After a disagreement, Victorian and Smith of Norfolk, VA, assaulted and robbed Newson, who then pulled out a knife and stabbed both men, police stated in a release. Victorian and Smith ran toward Winding Way, where they called 911 and were transported to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center for treatment, police said. Baltimore County police arrested two men last week in the Sept. 30, 2009, stabbing death of Rodney Lewis in his Randallstown home. On Jan. 2, police arrested Eric Isaiah Johnson, according to a news release. Then, on Jan. 3, police arrested Leonard Briscoe. Both have been charged with first-degree murder. At about 4 p.m. Sept. 30, 2009, officers went to the Lewis' residence in the 9500 block of Liberty Road. During their investigation, police found out that Johnson was staying with Lewis and Lewis' wife. A Milford Mill Academy student who was stabbed Monday while walking toward Rockdale Terrace was also robbed, police said. Some media reports question whether the student was somehow involved in the robbery. But, according to a Baltimore County Police report, the student was the victim. At about 11:55 a.m. Monday, two males approached the 17-year-old boy behind the school at 3800 Washington Ave., and demanded his cell phone, the report states. "The victim placed the suspect in a headlock. After a short struggle the suspect stabbed the victim in his right thigh," it states. He was taken to a local hospital. A school official told WBAL Radio on Monday that the victim had left the school without permission, according to a WBAL Radio report.

A Milford Mill Academy student was reportedly stabbed Monday on a street near the school.
A Milford Mill Academy student was stabbed Monday afternoon as he walked along Rockdale Terrace near the school in Milford Mill, according to a WBAL Radio report. A school official told WBAL Radio that the student had left the school early and without permission. While the student walked along Rockdale Terrace, he was robbed and stabbed, the report states. He walked back to the school at 3800 Washington Ave. where he got medical treatment and was taken to the hospital. According to a Fox News report, the student is 16 years old had "multiple leg wounds."

Police: Each man faces attempted first-degree murder and first-degree assault charges.
Baltimore County police have arrested five men in connection with two stabbings Tuesday in Garrison, that left three people injured, according to a police statement. All the injured have been treated and released. All five have been charged with attempted first-degree murder and first-degree assault, police said. Baltimore County police say three were stabbed on Tuesday.
Baltimore County police have released more information about the multiple stabbings that occurred Tuesday in Garrison. Investigators, however, have not yet charged anyone in the case or determined the cause of the argument or who fired a gunshot. At about 3:45 p.m. a white Crown Victoria carrying five people arrived at a townhouse at 9 Spectator Lane. An argument and stabbings occurred on the front lawn, according to a police statement released on Wednesday. Three people were stabbed.
