The next change will prohibit vehicles from parking there during the night, Sen. Bobby Zirkin said.
Another change is afoot for Brooks Robinson Drive. Sen. Bobby Zirkin said that, as of Aug. 30, vehicles will not be permitted to park there between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. It basically keeps them from sleeping there, Zirkin said, referring to a concern some residents had expressed. On May 30, new rules went into effect on the approximately 1-mile access road to I-695. On that day, motorists were allowed only 24 hours to park there. Previously, they were allowed 48 hours. Brooks Robinson Drive extends about a mile, from Park Heights Avenue to Stevenson Road, and is parallel to the beltway. There is ample shoulder to allow travelers, including those with tractor trailers and other trucks, to park there. It's a convenient place for motorists to …

Plenty of problems remain as of Saturday night.
Pikesville still was suffering from plenty of damage from the storm that tore through the region. After the extreme heat during the day Friday — temperatures over 100 with heat indices that pushed past 110 — the huge storm hit late Friday. There was a lot of damage, enough for Gov. Martin O'Malley to issue a state of emergency for the state due to the harsh storms, high temperatures and long period of time it's expected to recover. On Saturday night, many traffic lights remained out and numerous neighborhoods were without power. Various reports have said that, in certain situations, it could take days to fix everything. Trees had been lifted out of the ground, snapped in half and simply broken by the sheer force of the storm. Much of the…
