The Shops at Quarry Lake's second Italian restaurant is now open. Illiano's J&P Restaurant served its first customers on Saturday. Its hours are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, said co-manager Marcie Healy-Butler. Pizza Blitz was not open with Ciao and they are doing a nice job. This is an example of a greedy landlord. Hopefully they can co exist but if I were Pizza Blitz I'd ask for a rent reduction more ›

A notice at 2620 Quarry Lake Drive states that J&P Illianos Restaurant plans to operate at the site. Renovations are under way, as is an application made by Augusto Illiano and David Michaelson for a license to sell beer, wine and liquor, the notices state. A hearing before the Baltimore County Board of Liquor License Commissioners is set for 2:15 p.m. Aug. 13 at a county office building, 111 W. Chesapeake Ave., Room 106 in Towson. I tried the pizza last week at this Italian eatery in Quarry Lake at Greenspring. This week, I'm trying the house salad. And it, too, is a winner.
Where can you get a fresh, crisp and chunky house salad—completely unlike the kind of salad that has been wilting in a salad bar all day? Pizza Blitz at the Shops at Quarry Lake, 2622 Quarry Lake Drive in Pikesville. For about $5 you can get a large bowl of crispy iceberg lettuce, kalmata olives, thick slices of carrot and cucumber—the tasty varieties, mind you—and garlicy and spicy house Italian dressing. I must mention that this salad is seriously fresh.
