Frugal Family: Dougie's 1-Year Anniversary Buffet Special

Get all you can eat on Jan. 1 at Dougie's kosher restaurant in Pikesville.

Get an all-you-can-eat, kosher barbecue buffet on Jan. 1 at Dougie's in Pikesville. In honor of its one-year anniversary, Dougie's Bar-B-Que and Grill is holding the event from 4:30-10 p.m. that one day only, according to the restaurant's Facebook page. The cost is $20 for adults and $12 for children under age 13. Dougie's is located at 600 Reisterstown Road at Slade Ave., in the Pikesville Plaza building. What's your favorite food at Dougie's? Forecast: More Rain Is on the Way

Thunderstorms and even hail are a possibility before the sun returns on Thursday.

  Rain clouds are still prevalent throughout Pikesville, although the sun has managed to shine through occasionally. More rain and thunderstorms—even a possibility of hail—are in the National Weather Service forecast through Wednesday. For the entire Washington DC/ Baltimore area there's a hazardous weather outlook in effect for 4-10 p.m. Tuesday, according to the NWS. "Scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop this afternoon," the outlook states. "Some of the storms may be severe and will be capable of damaging wind gusts and large hail." Otherwise, on Tuesday night there's a 60 percent chance of thunderstorms before midnight, with showers possible through 2 a.m. Wednesday, the forecast states. The chance of precipitation diminishes…

Dougie's Dishes Up Unique Barbecue Options

The newest kosher restaurant in Pikesville has a varied menu featuring grilled meats, salads, burgers and pasta.

Restaurant: Dougie's Bar-B-Que & Grill Address: 600 Reisterstown Road, Pikesville 21208 Phone: 410-368-4437 Hours: 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday and Sunday. Closed Friday, and open two hours after Shabbat on Saturday, until 11 p.m. If you're interested in ribs, burgers and beef, buffalo wings and barbecue, one of Pikesville's new restaurants—Dougie's Bar-B-Que and Grill has all that—and it's all kosher. Pikesville's newest kosher restaurant is now open for business at the Pikesville Plaza building. I took along a companion to test out the latest in dining fare. Barry, thanks for posting this review. It's definitely helpful. Since I had never visited the building, I wasn't sure about all the parking options, and I'm glad to hear there are more, especially for handicapped spaces. I thought there must be! And it's good to know that the steak is good, too. We were both wondering about that. Does anyone else have a dish to recommend?   more ›

Pikesville Chamber: Dougie's Barbecue Restaurant is Open

Dougie's BBQ & Grill, a kosher restaurant and cafe, is open in the newly-renovated Pikesville Plaza Building at the corner of Reisterstown Road and Milford Mill/Slade roads.

Dougie's BBQ & Grill is open for business at the Pikesville Plaza Building, said Jessica Normington, executive director for the Pikesville Chamber of Commerce. Dougie's, at 600 Reisterstown Road, is a kosher restaurant and cafe. It's also a chain with a location in Brooklyn, NY. According to a voice mail recording at Dougie's in Pikesville, it's open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday, as well as Sunday. What's Coming in Along Reisterstown Road?

Chamber: Ann Taylor Loft, Wine and Other Stores Coming to Pikesville

The talk of the Pikesville Chamber of Commerce these days is the arrival of three new businesses at The Festival at Woodholme, including Ann Taylor Loft, set to make its home next to Trader Joe's. The Wine Loft will also be moving into the shopping center, said Jessica Normington, executive director for the chamber. Chicken Out left The Festival this summer, but a replacement could be in the works soon, Normington said. Corner Bakery Cafe, a Chicago-based chain, could be moving into that space. One Pikesville business recently moved from downtown to the shopping center: Couture Moda.
