5 Kid-Friendly Events in the Pikesville Area

Fun times available for kids include building with Legos, playing Xbox and Wii with friends, learning a computer program, attending a block party and seeing a movie.

1. Build with Legos. At 10 a.m. Thursday at Pikesville Branch Library, 1301 Reisterstown Road, Pikesville, Legos and other supplies will be ready and waiting for kids ages 6-12. They'll build structures born of their own imaginations. Children ages 8 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Advance registration is required. Go to a summer fair, meditate your cares away, learn more about the computer or spend some time (and money) at two local farmers markets.

Sure, there are plenty of fireworks displays this long, Fourth of July weekend. But that's not all.    PIMLICO RACETRACK FAIR Where/When: Pimlico Racetrack at 5201 Park Heights Ave. in Baltimore. 5 p.m. to noon, Friday and Saturday. And from 1 p.m. to 12 a.m. Sunday. Why Go: Don't miss it! This is the fair's last weekend. There are rides, games, prizes, food, vendors, animals, shows and more. People of all ages can come out and have a good time.
