Comptroller Honors Tavern’s Return
Comptroller Peter Franchot issued a proclamation to the Mt. Washington Tavern for its dedication to the community.
Comptroller Peter Franchot recognized the Mt. Washington Tavern’s effort to reopen its doors after a fire destroyed the restaurant in 2011. Franchot awarded the popular bar and restaurant with a proclamation on Monday, not only for its owners tenacity in bringing the tavern back, but also for its support of the Mount Washington community, according Caron Brace, a spokeswoman. "It's a landmark in the Mount Washington area. I don’t know anyone that lives in the area, or Baltimore, that doesn’t go to the Mt. Washington Tavern,” Brace said.
