The Milford Mill convenience store made famous by selling the winning Mega Millions Lottery ticket this year was held up at gunpoint July 2.
A robber used a shotgun to threaten a 7-Eleven employee into handing over cash and cigarettes. At 5:05 a.m. July 2, a man pointed a shotgun at the cashier at 8014 Liberty Rd. and demanded cash and "all of the Newport 100s," according to Baltimore County police. He put the stash—including the 10 packs of smokes—in a white, plastic garbage bag with yellow draw strings, a police report states. At first he ran with the bag, then he casually walked north on Rockdale Terrace, it states. This particular 7-Eleven in Milford Mill became the center of worldwide media attention in March after it sold one of the winning Mega Millions Lottery tickets in its record-breaking $656 million jackpot.
