BASKETBALL: Panthers Never Count Themselves Out Against New Town Titans
Boys varsity team falls to New Town, but maintains intensity to the end.
The Pikesville Panthers never down in Friday's match up against the New Town Titans. Despite trailing early in the first quarter 17-3, and 37-19 at halftime, the Panthers seemed to turn on the energy in the second half. Even after being down by a large margins, the Panthers rallied to pull within 15 points of their opponents. An offensive showcase led by the seniors Clayton K-sparrow, Ethan Thompson, and Jared Kurland helped their teammates shorten the gap. Although they had the Titans on their heels for most of the fourth quarter, ultimately the deficit was too much for the Panthers to overcome. The Titans finished the job and won 73-51. But, the score does no justice to the players of the Pikesville Panthers, who showed a lot of heart …
