UPDATE: Loft to Open at 10 a.m. Friday

The new women's clothing store will reportedly feature a new concept: A larger dressing room, called a style closet, featuring outfits already put together, including accessories.

UPDATE 1:59 (p.m.)—Loft in the Festival at Woodholme is set to open at 10 a.m. Friday, a brand representative told Pikesville Patch. The women's clothing store will feature a concept of 'style closet.' That refers to a new type of dressing room—one that's a little larger, and includes mannequins wearing coordinated outfits and accessories. It's a way to get customers in the dressing room communicating about the fashions, and to get ideas, the representative said. Also, according to the representative, who wouldn't allow her name to be published: An opening event will be held from 1-5 p.m. Saturday. What's New Along Reisterstown Road?

Signs that are now posted indicate that Ann Taylor Loft will open this spring and the Corner Bakery & Cafe will open this summer.

  Work has begun outside the defunct Chicken Out Rotisserie suite in the Festival at Woodholme. Signs posted there indicate that Corner Bakery & Cafe will open in the summer. The first Corner Bakery opened in 1991 in downtown Chicago, featuring bread, coffee and espresso, according to the company website. Each location now offers sandwiches, paninis, pizzas, desserts and salads, and bakery goods, as well as breakfast foods, including oatmeal and other breakfast items. Also in the Festival, Ann Taylor Loft women's clothing store has posted a sign that states the store will open this month. Almond Commends Businesses for Recruiting Others to Pikesville

With Baltimore County money scarce, councilwoman urges businesses to be creative in recruiting new ventures, volunteering.

Businesses are keeping Pikesville vital during tough economic times by recruiting other businesses, Councilwoman Vicki Almond said Tuesday during the Pikeville Chamber of Commerce breakfast at Linwoods. "People who are established in the area are helping others come into the area, and that's what we need," she said. The health of the communities along Reisterstown Road, including Pikesville, is "inarguably linked to the successes and failures of the businesses along Reisterstown Road." Chamber: Ann Taylor Loft, Wine and Other Stores Coming to Pikesville

The talk of the Pikesville Chamber of Commerce these days is the arrival of three new businesses at The Festival at Woodholme, including Ann Taylor Loft, set to make its home next to Trader Joe's. The Wine Loft will also be moving into the shopping center, said Jessica Normington, executive director for the chamber. Chicken Out left The Festival this summer, but a replacement could be in the works soon, Normington said. Corner Bakery Cafe, a Chicago-based chain, could be moving into that space. One Pikesville business recently moved from downtown to the shopping center: Couture Moda.
