Fingerprints, firearms, tool marks and trace evidence can all be analyzed at the State Police Laboratory on Millford Mill Road. Scientists from units including Controlled Dangerous Substances, Toxicology, Trace Evidence and Biology are housed at the 12-acre site. There is a Central Evidence Repository, as well as photography and crime scene units. A statewide DNA database system is housed here. Two other regional laboratories support the Forensic Sciences Division work: one in Berlin and another in Hagerstown.
