Maryland State Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services, Emergency Number Systems Board was formed in 1979. The board is responsible for the installation and enhancement of Baltimore County's 9-1-1 system. The board consists of 17 members who are appointed by the Governor with Senate advice for a four year term. The board is responsible for reimbursing counties from the original 9-1-1 Trust Fund and from ongoing funds, and provides for audit of Trust Fund accounts.
