UPDATE: Group Needs Only $55 to Meet Vet Bills for Sick Cat
The Feline Rescue Association has raised $895 of the $950 it needs to cover Milk's medical care at two hospitals.
UPDATE (4:04 p.m. July 29)—A donor walked into the Pikesville Animal Hospital Friday and put $100 toward the medical bill for Milk, a foster cat who is being treated there for a liver condition.
Now, the Feline Rescue Association needs to raise the final $55 to pay for her care.
Already this week, the group had raised $795 to pay for the $950 in medical costs it has spent at the two hospitals where Milk has received treatment, said Lizzie Ellis, founder and president of the group that puts stray or unwanted cats into foster homes until a permanent home is found.

"At least one donor has come from Patch," Ellis said Wednesday. That donor even visited Milk Tuesday, Ellis said.
Milk's bills include $500 at Pikesville Animal Hospital where Milk is receiving care for hepatic lipidosis, including being fed through a feeding tube.

Pikesville Animal Hospital had capped Milk's vet bill at $500, a discount from a much larger amount, Ellis has said.
Also, when Milk first became ill, the group paid $450 at another hospital.
With so many other cats to care for, Ellis said she hopes the organization can cover the costs.
The rescue association is an all-volunteer organization working with cats and kittens who struggle to survive, according to the FRA website.
Milk is one of many foster cats and kittens at the organization who are available for adoption into permanent homes.
