Get Milk: She Needs a Permanent Home

After months of medical care, Milk, an adoptable cat with the Feline Rescue Association, is eating on her own and is ready for a home.

This summer, a black and white cat named Milk had two battles for her life.

She had feline hepatic lipidosis and was treated at . After her first, successful treatment she went back to a cage at , then to the Feline Rescue Association's room where cats can roam.

Then in October, she had a relapse. She refused to eat when she was near a lot of other cats.

The good news is that she has recovered and is eating on her own.

"Milk is ready to go home now!" said Lizzie Ellis, founder and president of the , based in Pikesville. "She's all better and really needs a home where she can have her own space."

, who is about two years old, is one of many foster at the organization that are available for adoption into permanent homes.

The FRA puts stray or unwanted cats into foster homes, or in cages at Petco, until a permanent home is found.

It's an all-volunteer organization working with cats and kittens who struggle to survive, according to the FRA website.

The best home for Milk will have no other cats, or maybe one or two others, Ellis said.

"But Milk would need to be able to keep her distance from them."
