Fashion Designer Tony Bowls to Visit Pikesville

Synchronicity Boutique is hosting designer Tony Bowls during a trunk show, as well as a sold-out fashion show this weekend.

Fashion designer Tony Bowls is set to visit Pikesville's Synchronicity Boutique this weekend. And in his honor, boutique owner Karen Mazer has set up a couple of events.

There's a Tony Bowls fashion show set for Sunday at the . However, those tickets—450 of them—have been long sold out, Mazer said.

Bowls designs prom, special occasion, pageant, bridal and tuxedo fashions. His designs have gotten endorsements from Ellen Degeneres and Donald Trump.

They have been featured on American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, Wheel of Fortune, and on Miss America and Miss USA pageants contestants, according to a news release from the boutique.

Not only are the tickets for the fashion show sold out, but the 45 models needed—including 20 students from , and 20 from —have already been chosen, Mazer said.

"Because so many people could not be included in the fashion show, we are having an appearance (by the designer) here at the store," Mazer said.

So, Bowls will be at the boutique from 3-6 p.m. Sunday during the store's trunk sale, she said.

"For anyone who has bought a dress (made by) Tony, he has offered to autograph them on the inside," Mazer said.

That trunk sale will also be held Saturday and Monday, but Bowls' appearance will be only from 3-6 p.m. Sunday, she said.

The proceeds from the fashion show—tickets are $10 apiece—are going to the two public schools.

"I'll be giving a minimum of $2,000 to Pikesville and $2,000 to Franklin for their post-prom parties," said.

She also donates $5 per prom dress purchased, or $5 per tuxedo rental to each student's school, during the season, she explained. Last year she donated to 145 schools.

She chose Pikesville and Franklin high schools to benefit, because students from those public schools were the first to respond to the boutique's offer on Facebook, Mazer said.

And she could focus on only two schools.

"I'm worrying most about the post-prom parties. The private schools have no problem whatsoever providing good post-prom parties, but the public schools run out of money after the prom," she said.

Mazer said she's proud to have Bowls visit .

When asked how she got him to make a visit, she said: "He only goes to the biggest and the best of the business. And we are now the biggest and best."
