Ethan Bortnick Performs at The Gordon Center for Performing Arts
Russian-born Ethan Bortnick, 13, began on a toy piano when he was three. Today, this piano prodigy holds the Guinness World Record for being the youngest musician to host a solo concert tour. This youngster will electrify audiences in the opening of The Gordon Center for the Performing Arts season.

Jewish Museum of Maryland Opens “Passages through the Fire: Jews and the Civil War”
The Jewish Museum of Maryland, 15 Lloyd Street, will open this groundbreaking exhibit that tells the story of the Civil War through the lens of the American Jewish populous. In conjunction with the exhibition, the Jewish Museum of Maryland is presenting a special “1861 Tour” of the Lloyd Street Synagogue. The tour looks at what it would have been like to be a member of the synagogue, then occupied by Baltimore Hebrew Congregation, at the start of the Civil War.
Museum entrance fee is $8 for adults, $6 for seniors, $4 for students and free for members. To learn more, go to jewishmuseummd.org.

Russian Cultural Festival
Enjoy a taste of Russian culture and learn about the history of Soviet Jewry before and after coming to America. This arts and culture fair, held at the Ben and Esther Rosenbloom JCC, 3506 Gwynnbrook Avenue in Owings Mills, will include athletic and traditional performances, acrobatic demonstrations, a Russian Ballet performance, an art exhibit, showing of the film “Refusenik” and a special presentation by four-time gold-medal-winning swimmer Lenny Krayzelburg.

Comedy on the Rocks
Russian comedian Vicky Kuperman commands the stage while you taste the finer foods and vodkas of the mother land. Comedian Sherry Davey opens the program. Event will be held at Temple Oheb Shalom, 7310 Park Heights Ave. Tickets are $8 and all proceeds support leadership training for young adults in Odessa through the Baltimore-Odessa Partnership.
