Celebrating Martin Luther King Jr With Service

What better way to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his legacy than to do our part in making the world a better place? This Monday, January 20, as we commemorate a national hero, join family and friends in giving back to our community. Here are a few volunteer opportunities, sponsored by The Associated: Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore.

The Sixth Branch Event
9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m
Ambrose Kennedy Park, In the Johnston Square community
Join Jewish Volunteer Connection at their signature MLK Day event at Ambrose Kennedy Park in the Johnston Square community. This Park was once a hub of activity in East Baltimore and today volunteers will clean it up, clear it out and help bring this park back to life! Register at facebook.com/events/629841990372394/.

Playdate Together
10:30 – 11:30 a.m.
Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center and Hospital, 2434 West Belvedere Avenue
Playdate Together is an intergenerational play date program for families to sing songs, play games and interact with residents of Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center. Event is geared toward families with pre-school aged children or younger. Register at volunteer@associated.org.

PJ Pals Intergenerational Storytime: Remembering the Dream: L’dor Va Dor Dor
10:30 - 11:30 a.m.
Edward A. Myerberg Senior Center; 3101 Fallstaff Road, Baltimore
Get together with your PJ Pals and give back to the community with your special friend or grandparent. Enjoy storytime, crafts and snacks.  Meet and make new friends and participate in a mini-mitzvah fair! This event is for families with children ages six months to five years; siblings welcome.
