'Woman to Watch' Honoree to Speak in Baltimore

Kathy Manning is being honored as a "Woman to Watch" by Jewish Women International. She will also headline a Jewish Baltimore event this week.

Jewish Women International (JWI) has selected Kathy Manning, the first woman chair of the Board of Trustees of The Jewish Federations of North America, as a 2011 Women to Watch honoree for her leadership in enhancing the well-being of Jews worldwide.

Manning, who will be honored at the annual Women to Watch celebration in Washington, D.C., will be in Baltimore this Wednesday, Nov. 30, for THE ASSOCIATED Women's "Strong Women. Strong Deeds." event.

As JFNA’s chair of the board, Manning speaks to Jewish communities across North America about fundraising, the impact of Jewish charitable efforts around the world, and changes in today’s philanthropic environment. Under her leadership, Jewish Federations are reaching and engaging new and younger donors to carry on Federations' proud tradition.

Manning has practiced law in Washington, D.C. and Greensboro, N.C., specializing in litigation and immigration. Manning has also held key leadership positions in charitable, educational and arts organizations and serves on the boards of the Jewish Agency for Israel and the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee.
