Jewish Museum of Maryland presents Songs of Arrival / Stories of Refuge
This year’s Herbert H. and Irma B. Risch Memorial Program on Immigration will salute the work of the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS), the international migration agency of the American Jewish community. “Songs of Arrival/Stories of Refuge” will feature musical performances by artists representing United States immigrant communities, including Andres Salguero (Colombia), Ssuuna (Uganda), the Washington D.C. Turkish Folk Music Group and Susan Leviton, Yiddish folk singer. In addition, Mark Hetfield, CEO and President of HIAS, will speak about the organization’s work and celebrate the career of Inge Weinberger, former Executive Director of HIAS Baltimore.

Playdate Together with Jewish Volunteer Connection
Bring your family and enjoy this intergenerational play date program with the residents of Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center. Families with preschool-aged children or younger will sing songs, play games and interact with Levindale residents during this Sunday activity from Jewish Volunteer Connection.

IMPACT’s “Laugh Out Loud”
He’s the only Iranian-Jewish comedian in the world! Dan Ahdoot, who has performed on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” and was a finalist on NBC’s “Last Comic Standing,” will perform at the University of Baltimore, Wright Theater this Thursday evening. This event is geared for young adults, ages 22-42. Cost: $30, includes heavy hors d’oeuvres and open bar.

The University of Baltimore’s Wright Theater is located at 21 West Mount Royal Avenue. “Laugh Out Loud” runs 7:30 – 9:30 p.m. To register, go to impactbaltimore.org/laughoutloud.
