A chartered bus will depart from the parking lot at Chizuk Amuno Congregation, 6400 Stevenson Road, at 6 p.m. and return at 9 p.m.
Volunteers will travel to some of the hardest hit areas of New York City to aid some of the most vulnerable seniors still suffering from the effects of the recent storm.
JVC, a program of THE ASSOCIATED: Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore, is partnering with the Council of Jewish Émigré Community Organizations (COJECO) in this effort. COJECO is the central coordinating body in the Russian Jewish community of New York. Russian-speaking volunteers are especially welcome to help communicate with the elderly.
Volunteers must be in good physical condition and be at least 16-years-old. Those under 18 must be accompanied by a parent.
Pre-registration is required. To register or for more information, contact Rebecca Weinstock at rweinstock@associated.org or 410-843-7566.
