Meet the Neighbors: Woodholme Green Gathers for Cookout

Residents of the Pikesville community held a cookout with karaoke and volleyball during National Night Out on Tuesday.

Woodholme Green's Rosland Drive pulsed with chit-chat, laughter and sizzling puffs of smoke from the grill.

Tuesday was National Night Out, and dozens of residents turned out for the Woodholme Green Homeowners Association's second annual cookout.

"This is to get our homeowners together, especially the new ones, to visit and share ideas on how to prevent crimes," said Willie Bulger, association vice president and event grillmaster.

President Jaki Hall helped coordinate and host the event.

The group served hotdogs, burgers, baked beans, drinks and more, while kids played with red Frisbees donated by Pikesville .

Members of the Baltimore County Police Department's paid visits, including Capt. John McGann, the commander who replaced the retired Capt. Roman Zaryk, and Lt. Michael DiCara, assistant commander.

DiCara replaces Lt. William Lally who now works at headquarters in Towson.

Jerry D'Antoni, president of the , helped give out stickers and other favors, and escorted McGruff the Crime Dog.
