Pikesville Resident Wins 91st Women's Amateur

Golfer Andrea Kraus, a Pikesville High School alumna, took the state title last week.

Andrea Kraus of Pikesville won the Maryland Women's Amateur on Thursday.

The senior golfer and current Maryland senior amateur champion is 51 years old, and last week beat out a player whom she used to coach at Towson University, according to a story in The Washington Examiner.

The tournament, held by the Maryland Golf Association, took place at Norbeck Country Club in Rockville, according to a story by the association.

"In the last six weeks ... (Kraus) has won the Maryland State Women's Mid-Am by nine strokes, qualified for the U.S. Amateur with a 72, and won the medal in this week's Amateur with a 69," it states.
