Pikesville Volunteer Fire Company Announces Inaugural Golf Tournament Fundraiser

PIKESVILLE, MD – April 14, 2011 – The Pikesville Volunteer Fire Company announces its inaugural golf tournament, set for July 25th, 2011 at the Suburban Club, 7600 Park Heights Avenue in Pikesville.

Registration starts at 7 a.m., with a shotgun start for the golfers at 8 a.m.  Registration fees of $125/individual or $500/foursome include 18 holes of golf, cart fees, breakfast, lunch and refreshments throughout the day.

The Pikesville Volunteer Fire Company continues to be among the busiest career or volunteer fire stations in Baltimore County, running 1,778 fire (suppression) and 1,882 EMS (total of 3,660) calls in 2010.  The company relies on community financial support throughout the year, and is trying a golf tournament fundraiser for the first time.

Len Stoler Automotive has generously donated a new car, worth $25,000, for a golfer who makes a Hole in One on a specific hole.  Prizes will also be awarded for Long Drive, Par 3 Closest to the Pin, and Top (3) Foursomes.  Golfers will also be eligible for a variety of door prizes.

PVFC is also looking for tournament sponsors.

3rd Alarm Sponsorship - $3,000

Includes: Special recognition banner at entrance to the club, co-exclusive signage on all golf carts via windshield sticker sign, (1) tee sponsorship, and (1) foursome

2nd Alarm Sponsorship - $1,500

Includes: Banner at entrance to the club, and (1) foursome

1st Alarm Sponsorship - $250

Includes: (1) tee sponsorship

Registration information for golfers, and sponsorship information for companies, are available on the PVFC website at www.pvfd32.org, by calling the PVFC firehouse at 410-486-9834 (ask for Lt. Goldberg or Lt. Justin Schumer) or by emailing pvfdgolf@gmail.com .  Golfers must be registered by June 1.  Donations of any amount are also accepted.

Pikesville Volunteer Fire Company (www.pvfd32.org) was founded on Feb. 4, 1897 by a group of local citizens, making us the second-oldest volunteer fire company in Baltimore County. Today PVFC is the only station in Baltimore County that operates an engine, tower, squad/heavy rescue, and medic, offering a full range of fire suppression, rescue and EMS services for the community.
