The center interviews more than 850 children annually who have reported sexual abuse.

And it and helps more than 1,000 families annually in overcoming the trauma of past abuse.

Nationally, it is estimated that one in four girls, and one in seven boys will be sexually abused by the time they reach the age of 18, the release states.

"In 90 percent of these cases, the perpetrator is someone the child and family knows and trusts," it states.
