Friendship Circle Life Skills Program

Becoming comfortable in a grocery store, restaurant, or your local Home Depot can be an acquired skill for a child with special needs. Practicing life skills in a safe and welcoming environment can change what seems strange, overwhelming and unfriendly into something fun and easy to do.

That’s what the Life Skills program is all about. Children with special needs get to practice being out in the "real" world, all without fear of rejection or severe consequences. For children with special needs, this is an important step in the process of gaining independence and learning how to take responsibility.

Life Skills for Teens is an 8 week program geared towards the older group of FC members (ages 13 and older). Each week we embark on outings taking our teens into their community for a fun experience where they can participate in activities with peers, implementing “everyday” skills.
