Zana Hill and Lacrystal Hill placed third in the hospitality services management category, according to a news release. Businessmen and businesswomen acted as judges during the Feb. 12 conference.

The Woodlawn students tied with another team from Baltimore County Public Schools: Lashawn Johnson and Sara Owens of Overlea High School, the release states.

One hundred seventy students from Anne Arundel, Howard and Baltimore counties participated at Perry Hall High School.

Among the 19 top finishes for Baltimore County Public Schools, 13 were by Perry Hall students. Perry Hall took the overall team award as well.

The students participate as a team, showing their knowledge in areas of business through "written assessments" and presentations.

The Perry Hall event was practice for the students' DECA State Career Development Conference set for March 7-8 in Annapolis.
