Pikesville Side Roads Slick, Schools Close Early Thursday

National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory through 9 p.m. for the Washington D.C./ Baltimore area.

About 1 inch of snow fell throughout Pikesville beginning at about lunchtime, leaving slush, frozen slush and on some roads, a thin layer of icy slush.

But the lightweight, small flakes were easy to brush off of cars.

All Baltimore County Public Schools closed an hour early, and some private schools in Pikesville canceled after school athletics and activities.

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory that lasts through 9 p.m. tonight. Snow should have tapered off by early evening, according to NWS.

Temperatures will be in the low 20s tonight, so be careful when driving, as roads could become icy.
