Principal Edmund Mitzel Jr. nominated Hrinda for the Pikesville chamber award. “Being the only physics teacher makes it a difficult sell, yet students will consistently say they are taking his course because of his commitment to their achievement and well-being,” he said in a statement.

Hrinda says that he teaches by creating hands-on projects that encourage students to think out problems and solutions.

Hrinda is a track coach, is sophomore class advisor, coordinates the annual STEM fair, runs an event at the Physics Olympics, and performed in the spring musical, among other projects, the release states.
