Nursing, Theater Students Earn Higher Education Honors

Lindsay Scheve received a Frank O'Hara medal for having the highest GPA among sophomores at The University of Scranton, and Zipporah Brown was named to the dean's list at Messiah College.

Lindsay Scheve of Baltimore earned an award for academic achievement at The University of Scranton.

She earned a Frank O'Hara medal for having the highest grade-point average among sophomores for the 2011-12 academic year and in her college, the Panuska College of Professional Studies, according to a news release from ReadMedia.

This is the second time the nursing major has received the award. She is a member of Alpha Lambda Delta, the national honor society for freshmen, it states.

She is secretary of the Student Nurses Association and is a teaching assistant for biology. A Royal Ambassador, she has also volunteered at the Day Nursery Association.

Zipporah Brown was named to the dean's list for the fall semester at Messiah College.

She is a sophomore majoring in theater at the school in Grantham PA. Students must earn a 3.6 GPA or higher to be named to receive the honor, according to a news release from ReadMedia.

Messiah is a private, Christian college of the liberal and applied arts and sciences. There are more than 3,000 undergraduate and graduate students enrolled.
