Local Students Make Dean's Lists at College

Aaron Swerling of Baltimore, and Erin Levitas, Jennifer Freed and Zipporah Brown of Pikesville earned honors at their respective schools.

Aaron Swerling of Baltimore, a student at the University of Delaware, made the Dean's List at his school, for the fall 2012 semester.

To earn the honor, full-time students must earn a GPA of 3.33 or above on a 4.0 scale, a ReadMedia release states. University of Delaware is located in Newark.

Swerling is among several other students from the Pikesville area who have recently earned honors at their respective schools, according to news releases from ReadMedia.

Wake Forest University student Erin Levitas of Pikesville made her mark on academics by earning Dean's List status, also for the fall semester.

Wake Forest is located in Winston-Salem, NC. She was among 1,900 students to earn the honor for last semester, a news release states.

Down in Harrisonburg, VA, James Madison University student Jennifer Freed of Pikesville was named to her school's Dean's List.

She's a senior studying social work. Students who earn dean's list honors at James Madison must have taken at least 12 graded credit hours of coursework and earned a GPA of between 3.5 and 3.899, according to a news release.

Theater major Zipporah Brown of Pikesville, a sophomore, has made the Dean's list for the fall semester at Messiah College in Grantham, PA, according to another release from ReadMedia.

Dean's List status at Messiah is earned by receiving a 3.6 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale, it states.
