Krieger Schechter Invites Kids to 'Crack the Code'

The next event in the Schechter Science Showcase is set for March 18, and will focus on cryptography, math, genetics and communication.

Society and science use codes in many ways.

Kids can learn about codes and how they are used during Science Sunday, set for next month.

"The event features special sessions on the use of codes in science and society with the focus on four main topics: cryptography, math, genetics and communication," according to a news release from the school.

"Crack the Code" will be held from 1-3 p.m. March 18, the release states.

Children in kindergarten through seventh grades will participate with kids in their own grades, it states.

Check-in is at 12:45 p.m. outside the auditorium of the school, located at 8100 Stevenson Road in Pikesville.

The event is free and open to the entire community, the release states. Children are invited to attend with their families.

This is the school's second Science Showcase in the 2011-12 school year. The first, held in December, attracted more than 200 people, according to the school website.
