For people suffering through addiction, the road to recovery can be long and arduous. Family and spirituality play an important role in overcoming the disease. To further help addictions patients and their family and friends take the important steps to recovery, Jewish Recovery Houses (JRH) present the first annual “Recovery Day at the J”, a daylong event with informative sessions from leading addictions experts and professionals. Workshop topics include the spiritual role of addiction in committed relationships, the roles that family and sponsors play in recovery, meditation and Jewish spirituality, relapse prevention, and co-occurring diseases, among others.
Special Guests include Rabbi Kerry M. Olitzky, DHL, executive director of the Jewish Outreach Institute and the author of Twelve Jewish Steps to Recovery, and James M. Goldstein, Ph.D., an expert in creating Powerful Partnerships®.
