What You're Saying, Pikesville!

Here are Pikesville Patch readers' comments about issues we care about: Beth Tfiloh sends students to a PAC conference; a lost dog finds his home, and in a poll, the majority of Patch readers say the U.S. should back Israel on a strike on Iran.

Thanks to for submitting a photograph and write-up of the 26 high school students that the school sent to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee 2012 Policy Conference in Washington, D.C.

The photo, from BaltimoreJewishLife.com, shows the team, including "BT senior Mark Stein (who) was one of five high school students from across the country accepted to the AIPAC Student Speakers Bureau/Advanced Solicitation Training," the article states.

The conference was held March 4-6.

Congratulations to those students on being selected and on the amazing opportunity.

Westie Wesley is Home

During this past week, readers were concerned about .

Fortunately, two days after the dog's safekeeper posted the announcement on Pikesville Patch's Facebook page, the dog's owner was found—right in the same neighborhood.

Here's how Wesley got back home, according to a Patch reader, Bonnie, who emailed her story to me:

"Hi Janet ... Regarding this Pikesville westie. My husband came home Thursday morning (March 8) and told me there was a notice up at the 7-Eleven at Greenwood/Old Court Road about a lost westie.

I had seen a message on the Facebook page for Maryland Westie Rescue. At 8 a.m. I called the 7-Eleven and asked for the phone number on the 'lost' notice ... then I called the people who found a westie in that area.

Next I contacted the person who lost the dog ... gave her the finder's phone number and the dog Wesley was recovered.

I was so excited to have assisted in the dog's safe return, knowing how heart broken I would be in that situation. My only contact from the owner was her response to my text confirming that she had her dog back and she thanked me.

I'm just thrilled that Wesley is where he belongs.

Opinions on Iran

So far the majority of readers who have responded to the Pikesville Patch poll agree that we should back Israel on that issue.

The poll is not scientific.

On Facebook, blogger Cheryl Cohen commented: "If I had the answers to the problems in the Mid-East ... You would be visiting me on at my new residence in D.C ... lol!"

It's a huge issue. But is there anyone here in Pikesville willing to post their opinion? If so, reply in the "Leave a Comment" section below this article. What do you think is the appropriate response or action for the U.S. to take with Iran? Know any history or precedent that might help the U.S. make such a decision? Any warnings?
