The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning, as well as a watch, this evening.
The warning is in effect through 5:15 p.m., and the watch is in effect through 10 p.m., according to the forecast for Pikesville.
The warning is regarding a line of storms with damaging winds that the National Weather Service detected at 4:26 p.m., "moving from 8 miles northwest of Manchester to 15 miles southwest of Westminster," it states.
"This is a dangerous line of storms. If you are in its path prepare immediately for damaging wind gusts and frequent cloud-to-ground lightning. Move indoors to a sturdy building and stay away from windows."
The watch states that other thunderstorms are possible through 10 p.m.
