Road Crews Ready for Possible Winter Storm

Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz's office reports road crews are ready for about one inch of snow tonight.

Snow, sleet, and freezing rain is forecast overnight and tomorrow morning, and Baltimore County highway crews are ready, according to the county executive's office.

"Crews will be activated tonight at 10 p.m. and will treat roads through Saturday afternoon when the precipitation is expected to turn to rain," according to a news release.

Baltimore County "has a formidable task in keeping over 2,600 miles of roadway clear and passable," the release states.

According to the National Weather Service, there's a 100 percent chance of precipitation overnight—between 10 p.m. Friday and 1 a.m. Saturday.

That could include snow, sleet and freezing rain. Between 1-3 inches of snow and sleet could accumulate, according to the Pikesville forecast.

The low Friday is forecast to be about 27 degrees. And the high Saturday could be 35 degrees, it states.
