Memorial Day Closings, Trash Schedule Are Set

It's a federal holiday Monday, so county offices and services, as well as the US Postal Service are not operating.

Don't rush to the post office today. It's closed.

As the US celebrates the federal holiday Memorial Day, there are more offices and services that are also closed.

For example, there will be no trash or recycling pick up in Baltimore County today, according to a news release from the county executive's office.

If your trash or yard waste are usually picked up on Monday, leave it out because it will be picked up on Tuesday, the release states.

But hold your Monday recyclables for pickup next week, Monday, June 4.

Throughout the week, trash in the county might be picked up later than usual.

The rule of thumb? Leave it out until it's picked up, the release states.

Trash and recycling centers are also closed on Monday.

Mail and more

, as well as post offices throughout the country, are also closed Monday.

All post offices in the Baltimore District will be closed Monday, according to a release from the district.

The district has ZIP codes beginning with 210-219.

Also, Monday mail delivery is limited to Express Mail in the major metropolitan area, the release states.

Regular delivery will resume Tuesday when the post offices will also be open.
