Pikesville Man Gets Prison for Armed Robberies, Drugs

Brian Johnson was sentenced to 20 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to drug offenses and conspiring to commit six armed robberies through December 2009.

District Judge Richard D. Bennett sentenced a Pikesville resident to prison on Tuesday for conspiring to commit six armed robberies and to distribute drugs.

According to a news release from the U.S. District Court of Maryland in Baltimore, Brian Johnson, 35, was sentenced Tuesday to 20 years in prison and five years of supervised release for crimes he committed through 2009.

Johnson conspired to commit six armed robberies in 2009, including at fast food restaurants along Reisterstown and Liberty roads, the news release states.

Those robberies took place in Milford Mill, Owings Mills, Baltimore City and Cockeysville.

And from 1996 to 2009, Johnson conspired to distribute heroin, cocaine, cocaine base (crack) and marijuana to prisons or in the streets of Baltimore, according to prosecutors.

"Bennett also found that Johnson is a career offender based on previous convictions for murder and drug distribution," prosecutors said in the news release.

According to Johnson's plea agreement, he conspired with others to commit the following armed robberies:

  • Dec. 23, 2009: $623 from McDonald's, 8227 Liberty Rd., Baltimore County
  • Dec. 22, 2009: $142 from Burger King, 4400 Reisterstown Rd., Baltimore City
  • Dec. 22, 2009: $112 from Dollar Tree, 4400 Reisterstown Rd., Baltimore City
  • Dec. 18, 2009: $120 from Wendy’s, 10109 Reisterstown Rd., Baltimore County
  • Dec. 28, 2009: $140 from Dollar Tree, 4400 Reisterstown Rd.
  • Dec. 30, 2009: $150 from McDonald's, 528 Cranbrook Rd., Baltimore County
