Thunderstorms Roll Into Baltimore Area, Could Clear Wednesday

At about 8 p.m., storms began rolling into Howard County, then into Baltimore County.

A sunny Tuesday turned dark and stormy by evening.

"I think it I just hit the Arbutus area or its really close cause skies are really dark," tweeted Lauren Coscia during the 8 p.m. hour.

Independent Meteorologist Justin Berk tracked the storm on Twitter.

"Big nasty storm hitting Baltimore Co. Look out for downpours and winds 40-60mph," he tweeted during the 7 p.m. hour.

The National Weather Service forecast calls for thunderstorms to develop—possibly through 2 a.m. Wednesday—within the region that includes northern Virginia, Central Maryland, and Washington DC.

On Wednesday, there's a chance of thunderstorms and fog by about 8 a.m. with thunderstorms possible until noon, according to the area forecast.

The high will be about 86 degrees under an increasingly sunny sky, and the low could be around 59 degrees, the forecast states.
