Herbst Posts Plans To Announce County Council Candidacy

The Towson attorney is holding a campaign kickoff party Thursday in Pikesville.

Jon Herbst plans a campaign kickoff party Thursday at Gourmet Again to vie again for the Baltimore County Council District 2 seat.

The Towson attorney is a 2003 graduate of the University of Maryland School of Law, and has been practicing "for almost 10 years,"  according to his campaign Facebook page.

He's a 1995 Pikesville High School graduate who ran for the post in 2010, losing to Reisterstown resident Vicki Almond, who is now the incumbent and former county council chairwoman.

"My number one priority is to help struggling small businesses in Baltimore County," which would help create jobs, funding education and other services, Herbst states on his Facebook page.

The event is set from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Gourmet Again, 3713 Old Court Rd, Pikesville, according to his campaign website: John Herbst County Council.

A councilman is elected to serve a four-year term.
