Thunderstorms, Flash Flooding Possible Monday

A flash flood watch is in effect through 8 p.m., according to the National Weather Service's forecasts for Pikesville and Catonsville.

Prepare for a rainy commute Monday with flash flooding and thunderstorms are possible throughout Central Maryland, Washington D.C. and Northern Virginia.

There could be patchy fog this morning, and 1-3 inches of rainfall through 8 p.m.—the time when a flash flood watch ends, according to the National Weather Service.

However, in Baltimore County, rainfall could be less, at up to 1.5 inches throughout the day, according to local forecasts.

Thunderstorms are possible after 7 a.m. and "some of the storms could produce heavy rain," according to the forecasts for the Pikesville and Catonsville areas, published at 4:30 a.m.

Overnight Monday, up to 1/4 inch could fall. But thunderstorms are possible and could bring more rain through 2 a.m. Tuesday in those areas, according to the NWS.

The high Monday is expected to be about 75 degrees, and the low about 67 degrees.

There's a chance of thunderstorms Tuesday and Tuesday night, as well. The high Tuesday could be between 80 and 82 degrees, with a low of 65-66 degrees, according to the NWS.
