Expect Traffic Delays at Liberty Road Sunday

Construction of concrete bus pads will be in progress from 5 a.m. Sunday through 5 a.m. Monday, according to the Maryland State Highway Administration.

The State Highway Administration will be doing concrete work Sunday at Liberty Road in Lochearn, so the northbound and southbound right-hand lanes will be closed.

The closures will be from 5 a.m. Sunday through 5 a.m. Monday, between the Baltimore City and county line, to I-695, according to a news release from the administration.

That's from Fairview Road to St. Luke's Lane, it states.

"During the work, the left lane of each direction along Liberty Road and all side street and driveway entrances will remain open Sunday; however, SHA urges motorists and MTA bus riders to plan ahead for extra travel time along Liberty Road between the Baltimore City/County line and I-695," it states.

For weeks, construction of sidewalks and bus stops has been in progress. The work planned for Sunday is to pour and cure concrete bus pads, according to the release.

The following bus stops will be closed:

  • Liberty Road at Fairview Road
  • Sedgemoor Road
  • St. Luke’s Lane
  • Liberty Road at Essex Road
The work will take place as weather permits. If not, it will be done Oct. 20 or 27.
