Nov. 6: Set Clocks Back, Change Batteries

Daylight saving time ends at 2 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, so clocks should be set back one hour at that time.

According to NASA:

  • Daylight Saving Time begins at 2 a.m. on the second Sunday of March
  • Daylight Saving Time ends at 2 a.m. on the first Sunday of November

The based in Pikesville reminds Marylanders to "Change your clock—change your batteries" in your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.

"This simple step can help us avoid tragedies in the place we feel the most secure—our homes," State Fire Marshal William E. Barnard said in a news release.

And there's another safety measures you can work on this weekend: Plan two escape routes from your home, and practice them with your family, the release states.
