Woman Charged With Arson in Woodlawn Fire

Police said the 25-year-old woman also assaulted a police officer.

A 25-year-old woman was charged with arson in connection with a fire at her Woodlawn home on Saturday.

Ashley Joy Davis, of the 1600 block of Langford Road, told police that she started the fire because of an ongoing dispute, according to a statement from Cpl. John Watcher, a police spokesman.

Police and fire crews responded to the home in the 1600 block of Langford Road early Saturday morning after receiving a report of a suicidal subject, the statement reads. At the time, officers determined the incident was a "simple assault" and left the scene.
