Window Washer Rescued in Towson

The worker was at the 10th floor of the Edenwald retirement complex at 800 Southerly Road in Towson.

At 1:10 p.m. today, Baltimore County tactical rescue personnel rescued a window washer who had become trapped outside a building, according to a news release.

The worker was at the 10th floor of the Edenwald retirement complex, located at 800 Southerly Road in Towson, the release from the Baltimore County Fire Department states. The patient, an adult male, was transported to Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

"Though the nature of his injuries was non life-threatening, EMS supervisors sent him to Shock Trauma because of the circumstances surrounding the injuries," the release states.

"The call for a high-rise rescue came in to Fire Dispatch at 12:18 p.m. The advanced tactical rescue team from Texas Fire Station was among the units dispatched. Tactical rescue personnel used a rope system to lower a rescuer from the roof; he secured the victim to the rope system and lowered him to the platform on Texas' Tower 17."
