Willow Glen South Neighbors Gather Tuesday; Back-to-School Cookout Set

Residents held a community gathering Tuesday to mingle and visit with police during National Night Out.

It's difficult to miss the emergency-orange ball caps worn by members of the Willow Glen South Improvement Association.

Add a bright orange shirt, and in Sheila Jackson's case, bright orange tennis shoes, and you have one visible event.

Association members and members of the Willow Glen South Citizens on Patrol group gathered Tuesday to hold the community's National Night Out event.

"It was a good event," said Jackson, who is a block captain with the COP. "I was glad that we did it. We need to get out from time-to-time to meet and greet our neighbors."

Members of the Baltimore County Police Department's Pikesville Precinct stopped by the event, as part of McGruff the Crime Dog's tour of National Night Out events throughout the precinct.
